Isle Au Haut - Maine

Home > Isle au Haut

This remote island is located in Penobscot Bay several miles south of the Penobscot peninsular of Maine off the seacoast town of Stonington, Maine.  There are very few residents and much of the island is designated park area.  A truly beautiful island experience.

More than half of the island is part of the Acadia National Park.  The remainder of the island is home to 45 year-round residents and some 200 residents during the summer.  The Isle au Haut is not a tourist destination but more of a working community on an island.  There are very few amenities for the visitor.

Below are links that will provide more information on this remarkable natural treasure.
