Oxford, Maine

The Smith Bridge Preserve in Oxford, Maine recently opened to the public in 2023. It is administered by the Western Foothills Land Trust (WFLT).

Smith Bridge Preserve
577 Allen Hill Road, Oxford, Maine 04270

The preserve is minutes away from the business sections of the towns of Oxford, Norway, and Paris. The preserve has a number of hiking trails and an interesting landscape. There are remnants of an old covered bridge that once spanned the Little Androscoggin River.

Activities include hiking, running, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, crosscountry skiing, mountain biking, horseback riding, hunting, dog walking, and fishing. It has 494 acres of area with 5 miles of trails. It has 185 acres of wetlands and 4 miles of frontage on the Little Androscoggin River.

The land was purchased by the Western Foothills Land Trust in October 2021. It is one of three former Chadbourne Tree Farm parcels.
